How Can Therapy Help Couples?
Therapy can be helpful when couples are proactive about seeking help early. If you come to therapy when issues first arise, it can help you learn to communicate better, understand each other’s needs, and resolve conflicts in a healthy way.
The longer the issues have been around, the harder it can be to change old patterns. It’s important that both partners are committed to the process for therapy to be most effective.
If only one person in the relationship is willing to go to therapy, that can still be a positive step. By focusing on yourself, your needs, expectations, and behaviours, you can gain clarity and make positive changes that may inspire change in the relationship. Therapy can help you focus on your strengths and develop ways to bring more happiness and well-being to your life.
